Menlo Club June 2018 Review

Familiar with Five Four Club? Well they’ve re-branded and are now Menlo Club, a service of Menlo House.

Menlo House is the online destination for all things Five Four Group. It serves as the exclusive online store where men have access to all Five Four Group’s brands as well as the latest content to match their lifestyle.

With a men’s monthly-membership program, Menlo Club provides curated style options for every man featuring items from Five Four, New Republic, and Grand AC.

The Menlo Club sends menswear items (typically 2) for $60.00 a month.

It’s been quite some time since my husband had some new clothes and I thought it was the perfect time or him to get some new clothes for the warmer weather. Enter Menlo Club.

Five Four short sleeve button down shirt.

Menlo Club June 2018 Review

This 100% cotton shirt is a super light gray color. It’s such a light gray hue that I struggled to call it gray. It also has a very slight lined design to it. Not enough to look like lines, but enough to give it some depth and character making it stand out from the typical solid colored button down shirt.  It’s very light and breathable.

The shirt does seem to hold a wrinkle to it. At first it had a lot of wrinkles fresh out of the packaging. But a quick tumble in our dryer on the wrinkle release setting and it was good to go.

Next up the Five Four shorts.

These are the same hue family of gray but much deeper and darker. They create a perfect contrast to the shirt.

I’d call these a classic men’s short. They are refined and dignified and can easily be worn with a t-shirt and sneakers or with a nice button down shirt and loafers. They are made of 98% cotton and 2% spandex.

The shorts have two roomy front pockets and two slim back pockets.

What I really liked about these that made them stand out a bit were the button fly as opposed to zipper. I’m not sure why but it gave them a little bit more of a sharp vibe. Button fly always seems more masculine to me.

And last, the accompanying accessory that pulls the entire outfit together – the Grady Belt by Five Four.

Menlo Club June 2018 Review

It’s a classic and simple designed belt with a sturdy design. The belt is made up of a polyester and spandex blend in a oatmeal and navy blue single striped design.

The only aspect that makes me take pause when it comes to this belt is the ring closure. I’m not a huge fan of ring closure belts, although that is really a personal preference. This type of belt closure makes me think of Boy Scouts.

Maybe because neither of my boys ever wanted to be a boy scout I never found my appreciation for the ring closure belts.  I’m sure there are many people out there who love this type of belt closure.

I think that a total price tag of just $60.00 is a fantastic deal. I’m not sure that my husband would have walked out of any store with a nice button down shirt, pair of shorts and a belt for any less than this. Menlo Club seems to have cracked to code on delivering in a convenient, hassle free, and cost effective manner, men’s fashion to men everywhere.

I’m going to even go so far as to say I think Menlo Club has saved me money. Typically my husband goes shopping and comes back with WAY more than he needed and usually doesn’t wear it all.

Welcome, Subscription Box Society readers, thanks for stopping by. I'm Erin and here's a bit about me, in the 3rd person, naturally. Erin's a wife & mom of 3, a girl and twin boys. She spent most her life in San Francisco Bay Area but now lives in Colorado. She loves the first snow of the season, but not as much as the last one. She loves decorating her home for each season, loves good food, scratch that – ALL food, and reality TV. She despises putting away the laundry, being in the car when her husband is driving, and hearing her own voice. But really the only noteworthy detail here is her fascination with the brilliance behind subscription boxes. Welcome to the Society!
