Tinker Crate July 2017 Review – Bottle Rocket!
Be sure to watch the Final Blast Off video at the end of the review!
Tinker Crate is a subscription box for kids and a part of the fabulous and recognized KiwiCo of monthly kids subscriptions.
Technically I received the Tinker Crate Bottle Rocket in June, but with all the summer happenings I didn’t get organized enough for my kids to open it until July.
And how much appropriate does it feel that it’s in July – what better way to celebrate the 4th of July than with a Bottle Rocket?
My boys (who are 11) and their friend (12) were not showing a whole lot of enthusiasm that this rocket would have the power to impress them at lift off. Between me and the Society – they can act a bit “too cool for school” and they are NOT!!!
It was so hot this day so it was actually a great day for them to have something to do inside.
I was worried about this one because at first glance the activity looked a bit daunting and complex. Also, because I want to be super objective for the review I let them take charge and own the whole process (even when I think they’re screwing it up).
I mean look at these detailed instructions.
So yes I am doubting their ability to complete this at this point. Their attention spans aren’t that impressive.
But they sat down and actually maneuvered through them with relative ease. It’s not a total cake walk, they certainly had to use their brains, but it went by relatively smoothly.
Or maybe the “smooth” was the wine I was sipping while they built me a rocket! Yep, that’s looking like a rocket to me.
Tinker Crate July 2017 Review
Everything you possibly need is included in the kit. YOU NEED NOTHING.
Everything was labeled easily and packaged perfectly. It made the construction process feel less intimidating.
It took them about 30 minutes to construct the rocket. So outside we go to launch. The first launch was a dud. But, that’s because they didn’t read the bottle rocket tips.
They gathered around the table, read the Bottle Rocket Tips and went back outside for launch attempt two. Holy Sheezenet!!! I was honestly not expecting such impressive take off!
I was honestly not expecting such impressive take off! You can hear my complete shock in the video! That thing took off!
This is quite possibly the coolest activity that the boys have done so far all summer!!!
