About Erin:

I am a recovering online Sephora junkie. Truly, it was to the point where I was destroying all evidence of the deliveries from my husband. The art of strategically choosing my three samples at the checkout was a thrilling process. The exhilaration I felt from those boxes being delivered was unbeatable. Unwrapping each little sample and inspecting them each so meticulously was satisfying some strange need inside of me. I couldn’t get enough of them.

Oh and the birthday bonuses…are you kidding me, absolute jubilation!

January 2016, I accepted the reality. I had to put a stop to the madness. I didn’t need these same samples over and over.  If we’re being honest, I don’t wear that much make-up and my skin kept going into shock in anticipation of what new product it would be adjusting to. Additionally, I’m not a big perfume person, therefore space was limited in my office desk drawer for all the tiny bottles filling in Ziploc bags.

It was time, to put on my ‘I’m a mature adult’ hat and I put an end to my Sephora sample fix. I conceded and gracefully mourned the loss of my VIB Rogue status. Exhale.  (note: still a loyal Sephora customer)

Rather quickly discovered I needed something to distract me from the nagging desire to log in and see what new deals was I missing. I started perusing Subscription Boxes. The sample gods must have been looking down on me, ohhhh what a wonderful, wonderful, concept.

Not only did it have the possibility to fulfill my insatiable desire for opening new and exciting unknowns, but there were endless niches to choose from. So you’re telling me I’m not limited to cosmetics, c’mon on is this for real?

Here’s where it got tricky, I actually found myself overwhelmed. Information overload. Much to my shock it was too much information. It was stressing me out instead of providing the once unbeatable high.

Nonetheless, I would not succumb to defeat.

This my friends, is how we ended up here. I WOULD grasp this box world. I would catalog, organize, vet, and master the world and art of subscription boxes. I’m eager to share my experiences, good and bad. I look forward to learning from others too as you share your thoughts and discoveries. In the spirit of celebrating the Subscription Box Empire, welcome to the Society!
