Ellie March 2017 Subscription Box

Ellie March 2017 Subscription Box

So at this point I feel like Ellie and I are quickly becoming Compadres!  The Ellie women’s fitness inspired monthly subscription box for March 2017 is what keeps a subscriber subscribing!

Remember, in each Ellie monthly box, subscribers will receive 5 fitness related items. Typically, that includes an entire outfit.

That’s TWO outfits…Ellie’s March 2017 box had another entire outfit. Get outta here Ellie with your “typical” jargon.

The March Ellie outfit is a gorgeous vibrant blue by Marika.

First in the lineup the sports bra. This blue I can only describe as hiding under the Hawaiian waters tropical fish blue. Because that’s the color rampant under the Hawaiian waters when snorkeling on my honeymoon. I hadn’t actually seen this color anywhere else until I opened the March Ellie box.

It has tiny elements of a light gray detail that give it just enough contrast to offer some je ne sais quoi (also referred to as that little something that takes it to the next level).

This sports bra was a good fit. It has removable pads in the boobie part, which for me is a must. My only issue with these pad thing a ma jigs, is they always get twisted and funky. So, me personally I prefer they are just built in and not removable, but that’ really not relevant since I don’t think I understand their purpose anyway.

If were being candid, I like them pads in there ALWAYS, cause not only do I not want to see my own tidbits saying hello, but don’t really fancy anyone else to either. And since were on the subject, I’ll just place it safe by going to far as to let you all know, don’t really want to see anyone else’s tidbits either.

The bra is pretty comfy. It has a racer back, and those aren’t my favorite, however that’s probably a result of my lack of existing success when attempting to remove sports bras. No need to rehash this subject more than necessary, but in the interest of avoiding that statement to be misinterpreted as a result of you having no idea what the hell I’m talking about; let me just note…I have a history of becoming entangled in sports bras.

The shirt is a tank in the blue.  I’ve officially dubbed it THE blue. The back has a centered mesh panel that runs from the top to mid back.

I did a video review which you can view here. That will give you the opportunity to view in more detail

Finally, the leggings which can always make or break an ensemble. These legging have the grounding BLACK color necessary to offset and balance our bottom portion. These are all black on the back. It’s a good thing.  The front of the leggings is a combination of THE blue and a light charcoal grey.

The placement of the blue and grey are strategically placed to offer symmetry and balance to our often unbalance asymmetrical bodies. Which in my life translates to LOVE THEM. I truly believe that the cut and color placement of all clothing is vital what it looks like on. As much as I love THE blue, if these leggings had only the ass in the blue I wouldn’t be giving this same review about them. Just sayin!

The leggings are 90% polyester and 10% spandex. So what this means for us is that we get a lot a soft and a smidge of snug. Now, I’m cool with this. But for those who want to be sucked in, zipped upped, and avoid the loss of fabric elasticity and form, I’m not sure these will be the legging you love. But I can promise you that you will be super comfy while you’re not loving them.

Moving right along, onto the other two items that come with your March subscription box.

Ellie March 2017 Water Bottle

A Marika Yoga Mat Towel. For those of you who aren’t sure what this is for…it’s a wonderful complement to a squishy, sticky, heat holding yoga mat. I for one, love my yoga mats, but I stick to them like a strange frog on the wall in Florida. (which I’ve actually only heard about through friends who live among these freakish creatures, never actually witnessed)

The towel is placed over your yoga mat and voila…no more stick. Finally, I shall flow from pose to pose without the inevitable suction cup sound as my feet and hands leave my platform.

Ok, and last but not least a stainless steel, BPA free, hot or cold, 25 oz. reusable form bottle. And it’s a lovely lavender hue. Oh, and it has a little wristlet thingy feature on the handle for ease of carrying it.

When you subscribe to Ellie (which at this point why would you not) you pay $49.95 a month.

As noted in my February 2017 Ellie Box review a Marika active wear outfit consisting of leggings, sports bra, and top, (and I looked up the actual items) would run you about $140.00. And yes, there are offers, coupons, etc. but even still the Ellie March boxes items have an estimated value of…

Dun dun dunnnn….

$110.00 – and that’s with me estimating with the offers, specials, & promos applied.

Dude!

The last thing I want to mention is a little pearl of genius. With Ellie you do have the option to pause/skip months. And they are very clear on what is in the upcoming box. (have I mentioned how straightforward I find their site)

So for the February and March box there was a little bit of trading going on between me and my homie. You see she received the February box. I then received then the March box. I wanted her outfit and she was happy with either month’s outfit. (hers was green and that’s my fave color) However, I wanted the yoga towel, she didn’t. Little switcharooing commenced…presto we’re both happy.

As of current I’d say Ellie has re-entered the subscription arena in tip top shape!

About The Author

Welcome, Subscription Box Society readers, thanks for stopping by. I'm Erin and here's a bit about me, in the 3rd person, naturally. Erin's a wife & mom of 3, a girl and twin boys. She spent most her life in San Francisco Bay Area but now lives in Colorado. She loves the first snow of the season, but not as much as the last one. She loves decorating her home for each season, loves good food, scratch that – ALL food, and reality TV. She despises putting away the laundry, being in the car when her husband is driving, and hearing her own voice. But really the only noteworthy detail here is her fascination with the brilliance behind subscription boxes. Welcome to the Society!
